Greyton South Africa offers a diverse selection of shops and stores that cater for the needs and luxuries of visitors to Greyton. The village is a wonderful place to walk around in for a day, browsing through art galleries, curio shops, antique shops and craft shops, that offer clothing, jewellery, gifts, books and art, to name a few. There is a Saturday morning market which is opposite the Dutch Reformed Church on the Main Road, and next to the tennis courts. This is mainly a food market and visitors to the village, or guests staying over in one of the many Greyton accommodation establishments, can get a delicious egg & bacon roll for brunch; a wonderful variety of quiches; a selection of cheese; olives; biltong; homemade bread; homemade lemonade, jams & marmalades and of course the infamous pancakes, which are always in great demand. The Greyton morning market also has a variety of arts and crafts as well as Earthcrop aromatherapy soaps and shampoos made with essential oils. The market is open from 10am to midday on Saturdays.

Scram DVD HIRE has a great selection of DVD’s as well as a good selection of new and second hand books plus some fine quality dog leads, collars etc. They are situated in a little collection of shops on the corner of Greyton Main Road and Oak Street. To hire a DVD please ensure you have your ID/passport with you. They are open Monday to Thursday from 2pm to 6pm, and Friday to Sunday from 10am to 6pm. Please return DVD’s by noon the following day. In the same collection of shops and next to Scram DVD shop, is a lovely gift shop, known as Rustic Rose, that offers gifts for every occasion, décor, bath goodies and a great selection of lots more other very economical gifts.

There are three main supermarkets that cater for the village residents. Guests staying over in one of the accommodation cottages, self catering establishments or Greyton bed and breakfast venues, will be able to purchase all their groceries at these supermarkets. Zippy’s Supermarket is located at 44 Main Road just before the Dutch Reformed Church. The meat is of a very good quality and at an excellent price. Osman’s Supermarket and General Dealers is located on the corner of the 43 Main Road and offers a wide variety of groceries, freshly baked rolls and pies, building materials and hardware. The Friendly Greyton Village Grocer with their fresh ideas, produce and quality service, is located at 43 Oak Street and forms part of the Greyton petrol station. There is a rather nice deli section and is the best place to get the freshest and most tasteful bread in Greyton. All these supermarkets close at 7pm from Monday to Saturday and at various different times on Sunday.
